Tariffs and Funding

The Feed in Tariff [FiT]

This is a government backed initiative which was created to encourage the generation and use of energy from renewable sources.

How it Works

You can receive feed in tariffs for generating electricity [generation tariff] even when you use some or all  of the electricity yourself. For any unused electricity that you generate and send back to the National Grid you will receive a payment for. This is known as an export tariff.

Eligibility

To enable the Feed in Tariff [FiT] to be claimed the product used and the installer must have been accredited by the Microgeneration Scheme [MCS].

The government has introduced this scheme to allow products to be evaluated in a way that quality is assured, not just for the products but also for the expertise of the installers, therefore protecting the consumer.

When your system is installed we will notify your utility provider to enable the Feed in Tariff [FiT] to be paid to you.

Both the Energy Savings Trust and DECC websites can provide you with further details of the payments currently available.

Renewable Heat Incentive [RHI]

The government is introducing a scheme that is similar to the Feed in Tariff [FiT] which is called the Renewable Heat Incentive [RHI].

This scheme has been introduced to encourage people to use heat from renewable sources such as Solar Thermal, Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps and Biomass Boilers.
