As a result of the introduction of the governments Feed in Tariff [FiT] there has been an increased amount of interest in from householders and businesses in the benefits that can be gained from the installation of Solar Photovoltaic energy systems.
Solar Photovoltaic generates electricity from the sun and daylight. The solar panels collect the energy generated and convert it into electricity. This electricity can then be used to in the home or business premises to power appliances.
The amount of electricity produced depends on the surface area, coverage and the quality of the panels used. As the panels convert light into electricity you will still generate electricity even on a cloudy day.
There are currently many benefits to installing a Solar Photovoltaic system.
They are:-
- Receipt of a generation tariff payment for electricity that you produce
- Reduction in your standard electricity bill by using the electricity produced yourself.
- Receipt of an export tariff for electricity that you send back to the national grid.
Further details can be found on both the Energy Savings Trust and DECC website. Details on current rates for generation and export tariffs can be found on the Feed In Tariffs website.
Information regarding the Feed in Tariff regulations can be found by clicking here...
